After playing four of its first six Big Sky games on the road, Montana State is enjoying a brief two-game home-stand this weekend. The Bobcats will host Portland State, Saturday, Jan. 20 at 2 p.m. in Worthington Arena.

NEXT UP: After playing four of its first six Big Sky games on the road, Montana State is enjoying a brief two-game home-stand this weekend. The Bobcats will host Portland State, Saturday, Jan. 20 at 2 p.m. in Worthington Arena. The Montana State women's basketball program will be celebrating its first PACK THE HOUSE game on Saturday with tickets, programs and select concession items (hot dogs, nachos, popcorn and cookies) going for $2.
A LOOK AHEAD: Following its game against Portland State on Saturday, the Bobcats will once again head out on the Big Sky Conference road with three straight games away from the friendly confines of Worthington Arena. MSU will play at Idaho, Thursday, Jan. 26; Eastern Washington, Saturday, Jan. 28; and Montana, Saturday, Feb. 4. The Bobcats will close out the regular-season with five-of-seven at home.
ON A SERIES NOTE: Montana State leads its all-time series with Portland State 35-21 dating back to the 1976-77 season. In its last ten meetings, the Bobcats hold a 7-3 advantage, including the last three decisions. Last winter, MSU defeated the Vikings 106-59 in Portland and 74-64 in Bozeman. Head coach Tricia Binford is 12-9 all-time against PSU. The Vikings last win in Bozeman came on Feb. 2, 2013 in a 75-72 decision. Montana State leads the all-time series 20-7 in Worthington Arena.
NO PLACE LIKE HOME: The Bobcats are riding a 19-game home winning streak after its 84-80 victory over Sacramento State on Thursday night. The streak is the sixth longest at the NCAA Division I level. Ahead of MSU is UConn 57, Baylor 52, South Dakota 23, UCLA 22 and Bucknell 20.
SCOUTING THE VIKINGS: Portland State is the second hottest team in the Big Sky Conference after reeling off four straight victories, which included a 64-44 thumping of Montana, Thursday night in Missoula. The Vikings are 10-8 overall and 4-2 in league action under second-year head coach Lynn Kennedy. In his first season on the Park Blocks, Portland State went 4-26 overall and 2-16 (10th) in Big Sky play. Against the Lady Griz on Thursday night, the Vikings shot 51 percent from the field, including a whopping 64 percent in the fourth quarter as it built a 27-point advantage with 2:43 left in the contest. PSU had three players reach double figures led by Courtney West with 18 points. The 6-4 forward from Sydney Australia also added a team-best 13 rebounds and four blocks. Also in double-digits were Michaela Kay and Ashley Bolston, who chipped in 14 and ten points, respectively. On the season, the Vikings have been led by Sidney Rielly and Bolston at 16.7 and 14.0 points, respectively. As a team, PSU is shooting 44.8 percent from the line, while holding its opponents to 39.7. Under the boards, the Vikings are out-rebounding its opponents by +0.8 per game. West paces PSU under the glass averaging 6.7 rebounds per contest. The Viks are 3-6 overall on the road this year.
