Jaylee Tait Leads Big Sky Golf Tournament After First Round

Cats stand in seventh place one-third of the way through the event
Montana State sophomore Jaylee Tait made some history Monday, firing a three-under par 69 in the first round of the 2016 Big Sky Conference Women's Golf Championship.
Tait's round was the third-lowest in Big Sky Championship history, and has the Bobcat sophomore in first place one-third of the way through the event. "Jaylee had a great round," said Bobcat coach Brittany Basye. "Everything was clicking for her."
As a team, Montana State is in seventh place after the first round, 15 strokes out of the lead. Kati Greear fired a six-over 78 (tied for 34th), while Haylee Folkvord and Janelle Reali each shot 79 (tied for 38th). Lauren Hausauer marked an 83 (tied for 50th).
"I felt like we left quite a few shots on the course today," Basye said. "We need to work hard to get those shots back (Tuesday). I feel confident they will settle down and play good golf. The girls are swinging the clubs well and rolling it good."
Play continues Tuesday at the Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nev.
