Bobcat Women’s Basketball Squad Holds Blue/Gold Scrimmage Thursday Night

The Montana State women’s basketball squad will hold its annual Blue/Gold scrimmage, Thursday, Oct. 27 beginning with warm-ups at 5 p.m. in Worthington Arena. Tipoff is slated for 5:30 p.m.
The Montana State women's basketball squad will hold its annual Blue/Gold scrimmage, Thursday, Oct. 27 beginning with warm-ups at 5 p.m. in Worthington Arena. Tipoff is slated for 5:30 p.m.
Tricia Binford, who enters her 12th season at the helm of the Bobcat program, welcomes back seven veterans, including two starters that led MSU to a 21-10 overall mark and a 14-4 Big Sky Conference ledger. The Bobcats captured the Big Sky regular-season title and made the program's third WNIT postseason appearance.
Montana State is in its third week of practices and are paced by Big Sky preseason MVP selection Peyton Ferris, as well as Riley Nordgaard, who also earned All-Big Sky preseason accolades. Also returning to the squad is starter Delany Junkermier and Hannah Caudill, who led the league in assists last winter.
"We're looking forward to the Blue/Gold scrimmage and to be able to get video at game speed from which we can build on," Binford said. "It gives us an opportunity to look at our personnel and different rotations. We need to build our game conditioning, see where our newcomers are at, and learn from the mistakes we'll see on video."
The scrimmage is free and open to the public. Numerous promotional items will also be made available to the public, along with an opportunity to purchase season-tickets.
