Montana State Women’s Basketball Squad Announces Award Winners

Senior Ausha Cole captured two honors, winning The Eddy for best defensive player as well as most inspirational. Cole played in 28 games for MSU last season and was tasked with guarding the opponents’ top perimeter player. She finished her career sixth all-time with 332 assists and was ninth all-time with 115 games played.
The Montana State women's basketball team announced its 2014-15 award winners at its annual banquet.
Junior Jasmine Hommes garnered Bobcat MVP accolades after guiding MSU in scoring averaging 16.9 points per game. The Lynden, Washington product also averaged 5.1 rebounds, while shooting 48 percent from the field and leading Montana State with 28 blocked shots.

She finished her career sixth all-time with 332 assists and was ninth all-time with 115 games played.
Senior Jackie Elliott also took home two team honors. The Billings native was named the Dr. Ginny Hunt Bobcat Pride award winner and shared the Community Service award with freshman redshirt Haley Blodgett. Elliott was the only Bobcat to play and start all 30 games this season. She finished her final campaign averaging 7.4 points, while pulling down a team-high 6.7 rebounds and shooting a team-best 51 percent from the field.
Freshman Amy Davis was named most improved player. The graduate of Bozeman High School didn't play her first year at Montana State and joined the Bobcat program last summer. Davis finished the season playing in 27 games and averaging 10.8 minutes per contest.
Transfer Riley Nordgaard earned the Bobcat Strength award. Nordgaard, a 5-10 junior from Canby, Minnesota, sat out the 2014-15 season under NCAA transfer rules. Long-time women's basketball boosters Tom and Celia O'Connor were named Dr. Ellen Kreighbaum recipients for service above and beyond.
