5/13/15 - Today was the last full day in the Bahamas, and it was an eventful one at that! The day started with a quick, yet delicious buffet-style breakfast, followed by a race to get to the beach and water park.
Aquaventure, the water park at the resort, was a blast; there were several inner-tube slides, a couple body slides, and a rapid river that provided hours of entertainment for the team! Not only is the Bahamas a gorgeous place, but everyone here is extremely inviting and friendly, always wearing a smile on their faces.
After spending time on the beach, we headed off to the orphanage to spend time with the kids. We got to interact with the children, and play basketball with them. This was one of my favorite parts of this trip; it was a very humbling experience, as it really made me appreciate all the opportunities that have been presented to me, not only on this trip but throughout my life.
On Monday and Tuesday we played against the Bahamas international and all-star teams. This was very exciting for me, as I have been unable to play for over a year with my various knee injuries. It was great for me to get out on the court with my teammates, and get my feet wet so to speak before the start of the next season.
This has been an incredible experience, and I would like to thank everyone who made it possible!
