Montana State’s Hommes Named Co-Big Sky Player of the Week

Hommes had the best outing of her tenure in the Blue and Gold, leading MSU to a convincing eight-point win over No. 1 Montana. The product of Lynden Christian High School dominated the paint against the Lady Griz, scoring 25 points, while hauling down 13 rebounds.
Montana State junior Jasmine Hommes was rewarded for recording the best game of her career as she helped guide the Bobcats to a 65-57 win over Montana, Saturday afternoon in Worthington Arena.
Hommes, a 6-1 forward from Lynden, Washington, and Stacy Barr, a 5-8 guard from the University of Idaho, were named Co-Big Sky Conference Players of the Week. It marked the second honor of the season for both student-athletes.
Hommes had the best outing of her tenure in the Blue and Gold, leading MSU to a convincing eight-point win over No. 1 Montana. The product of Lynden Christian High School dominated the paint against the Lady Griz, scoring 25 points, while hauling down 13 rebounds.
The 25 points matched her career-best, while her prowess under the boards was a new career-high. For the game, Hommes connected on 10-of-19 from the field (53 percent) and went five-of-six from the line.
In addition, she posted a career-high three steals, as well as chipping in two assists and two blocks – all coming against the best defense in the Big Sky Conference. Hommes' efforts helped move the Bobcats into a fifth place tie in the final regular-season standings.
