“Ausha played good, old-school defense,” MSU Head Coach Tricia Binford said. “I thought as a whole our defense kept us in the game, when we were a little cold from the field. Kalli is in a good place right now. She is being aggressive and is playing with a sense of urgency. All of our seniors are doing everything they can to get us into the tournament.”
The Montana State women's basketball team took another step closer to securing a Big Sky Conference Tournament berth with a 71-62 victory over Idaho, Saturday afternoon in Worthington Arena.
For the first time this season, Montana State (14-14, 8-9) overcame a halftime deficit to post a victory. Entering the game, the Bobcats were winless in nine tries when trailing at intermission. The Vandals held a 32-30 advantage at the break.
MSU used a 10-0 run midway through the second stanza to build a 52-43 lead at the 11:35 mark on a jumper by Jasmine Hommes. Idaho (12-15, 6-10) responded and whittled the lead down to 59-57 with 5:53 remaining.
With under three-minutes left, the Vandals put the Bobcats on the foul line. Montana State took care of business at the stripe converting ten-of-13 to ice the game.
Montana State was sparked by seniors Kalli Durham and Ausha Cole. Durham finished with a season-high 20 points, including three 3-pointers. Cole shined on the defensive side and ended the game with seven points, three assists and two steals.

Also scoring in double-figures for MSU were Hommes 14 and Peyton Ferris 11.
As a team, the Bobcats shot 45 percent from the field and 77 percent from the free throw line. Idaho held a slim 40-38 advantage in rebounding. MSU was led under the glass by Hommes and Ferris with six boards, apiece.
Stacey Barr, the Big Sky's top scorer, finished with a game-high 23 points for Idaho.
