Bobcat Women Fall to Lumberjacks

Montana State won the battle of the boards 36-35 paced by Alexa Dawkins with nine rebounds. MSU only committed three more turnovers than NAU and shot a respectable 54 percent from beyond the arc and 90 percent from the line.
The Northern Arizona women's basketball team used a 9-0 run over a three minute span midway through the second half to pull away from a tied game and cruise to a 79-64 win over Montana State, Saturday night in the Walkup Skydome.
Northern Arizona (7-11, 4-3) shot 54 percent in the second half, while Montana State (7-11, 1-6) shot 32 percent from the field. In addition, NAU connected on 14-19 from the free throw line in the second half to help them pull away.
MSU was led by Kalli Durham with 13 points, while Hannah Caudill added 12 and Jasmine Hommes 10. Lindsay Stockton finished with seven points, eight rebounds and six assists.
In the opening stanza, the Bobcats found themselves down by seven points with 1:57 remaining in the half, but rattled off a 7-0 run capped by Jackie Elliott's put-back at the buzzer.
The two teams played even in the second half until the 12:11 mark when NAU made its game-winning run.
Northern Arizona had four players in double-figures led by Erikka Banks with 23 points and 11 rebounds.
