Montana State’s Hommes Named Big Sky Player of the Week

“Jasmine had an outstanding weekend,” MSU Head Coach Tricia Binford said. “She has been a consistent scorer for us this season, but what stood out in the last two games are her rebounding totals. As a team, we’ve talked a lot about getting the job done on the boards the past two weeks, and it’s been nice to see the team stepping up to the challenge.”
Montana State's Jasmine Hommes and North Dakota's Emily Evers have been named Big Sky Conference Women's Basketball Co-Players of the Week after leading their teams to a pair of wins last week.
Hommes had a phenomenal week as the Montana State women's basketball team ran its current win streak to three games, capped with a convincing 79-52 win over Wyoming. For the two games, the Lynden, Washington product averaged 23.5 points and 8.5 rebounds, while shooting 58 percent from the field.

Against Wyoming, Hommes notched her second career-double-double with 24 points and 12 rebounds. She connected on 12-of-20 from the floor against the Cowgirls. In addition, she added two assists and two blocked shots. In MSU's win over the University of Great Falls, Hommes recorded a team-best 23 points, while pulling down five rebounds. She also tallied two assists, two blocks and a steal versus the Argos.
On the season, Hommes has registered six games over 20 points, and has been in double-figure scoring in all nine MSU games to date. Hommes is currently second in the Big Sky Conference averaging 19.9 points per game.
Evers averaged 16 points and 12.5 rebounds in wins over Dickinson State and North Dakota State.
