“We had a solid effort against Carroll College, but we need to play harder on Sunday,” MSU Head Coach Tricia Binford said. “I thought we got a little gassed and had some first-game jitters, but now we need to take a step forward. We’ll have a little tighter rotation against Minot State.”
The Montana State women's basketball team will host NCAA Division II foe Minot State on Sunday, Nov. 9 at 2 p.m. in Worthington Arena in the squad's final exhibition game prior to the start of the season, Nov. 14 at Boise State.
The Bobcats are coming off a 59-49 win over Carroll College in exhibition action, last Saturday. MSU juniors Jasmine Hommes and Lindsay Stockton paced the Bobcats against the Saints with 19 and 16 points, respectively.

The Beavers, who play at Montana on Friday night, opened its season with a convincing 77-48 win over Dickinson State. Former Northern Montana standout Sheila Green-Gerding is in her 20th season at Minot State. The Beavers rely heavily on senior forward Christina Boag. Boag, a 6-2 native of Tamworth, Australia averaged 11.5 points and 6.2 rebounds per game last winter as Minot State posted an overall mark of 19-9, while finishing fifth in the Northern Sun Conference with a 14-8 slate.
"Minot has good size," Binford said. "We'll need to do a good job rebounding on both ends of the court."
Montana State fans are encouraged to bring canned foods to the game as part of the 15th annual 'Can the Griz' contest - an off-field competition between MSU and the University of Montana to see which community can collect the most donations for their local food banks. Fans will receive $5 off a single-game ticket to Sunday's matinee' for their donation.
