Balance Key in Montana State Women’s Basketball Blue/Gold Scrimmage

“We had a lot of different looks and it was nice to get the kinks out,” said MSU head coach Tricia Binford, who enters her tenth season at Montana State. “It was nice to see them play in full court mode and I was very pleased with the balance we showed on both ends.”
Junior Lindsay Stockton recorded 16 points and three steals to guide the Montana State women's basketball Gold squad to a 74-73 victory over the Bobcat Blue team in the first scrimmage of fall drills, Wednesday afternoon in Worthington Arena.
Also in double-digits for Gold were Peyton Ferris 16 and transfer Riley Nordgaard 10.

The Blue squad was led by senior Kalli Durham, who paced all scorers with 20 points, connecting on seven-of-15 from the field. Also in double-figures were Lexi Dawkins 18 and Ausha Cole 13.
"Kalli finds a way to get it done," Binford said. "I thought Lexi was incredible and Peyton was very strong inside. Lindsay, Ausha and Hannah (Caudill) did a nice job running their respective offenses."
Durham guided all players under the glass with nine rebounds, while Jasmine Hommes added eight and freshman Haley Blodgett seven.
Combined, the Bobcats shot 39 percent from the floor and 81 percent from the free throw line.
"We still have a long ways to go before the season-opener," Binford said. "We'll focus on the defensive end. We have to get stops to get us into our high-octane offense."
