* Montana State, Northern Colorado and North Dakota are three of the hottest teams in the Big Sky Conference. MSU has rattled off three in-a-row, including a four-point win over preseason favorite Eastern Washington. UNC has won three-of-its-last-four contests, while UND sits atop the league standings with a perfect 5-0 mark. North Dakota will host Montana, before playing the Bobcats.
* Montana State holds a 10-6 advantage in its all-time series with Northern Colorado dating back to the first meeting on Feb. 22, 1980- an 88-71 Bobcat win in Greeley. Last winter, the two squads split the series, each winning on its home hardwood.

* UNC swept its I-15 road swing last weekend, defeating Weber State and Idaho State.

* Northern Colorado jumped from seventh to third in the Big Sky statistics this week in three-point field-goal percentage defense, after allowing Weber State and Idaho State to shoot a combined .154 from the arc. The Bears have held five of the last six opponents to .200 or lower at the three-point line.
* North Dakota's impressive +10.7 rebounding margin leads the Big Sky and is 10th nationally.
* North Dakota is a perfect 6-0 at home this season.
* Mia Loyd and Madi Buck each recorded double-doubles in Saturday's win at Weber State. Loyd is second in the league with five this season while Buck has four.
A FULL PLATE:
Senior Ashley Brumwell has a lot on her plate. In addition to her playing gig, the 5th-year senior is also student-teaching at Bozeman High in the math department and graduated in December. Brumwell (formerly Albert) notched a career-high 26 points in MSU's win over Eastern Washington. On the weekend, the Hamilton native averaged 22 points and 9.5 rebounds, while shooting 55 percent from the field. Brumwell is second on MSU's all-time career blocked shot chart with 111 swats.
SHE'S A KICK:
The effervescent Jackie Elliott continued her stellar play recording her second double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds vs. Portland State. In Big Sky action, she is averaging a respectable 16.5 points and 6.5 boards per contest. Elliott, who was the 2010-11 Montana Gatorade Soccer Player of the Year and a 16-time All-State Academic pick as a prepster, is majoring in mechanical engineering.
FROM THE TOWN THAT MADE VIOLET BEAUREGARDE FAMOUS:
Miles City product Kalli Durham, who has strong family ties to Montana State (grandfather Lin, Uncle Mick and cousin Casey played for the Bobcat men's team) posted back-to-back double-figure scoring games last weekend. In MSU's win over Portland State, she notched 15 points, and followed it with 11 points vs. EWU. The daughter of a coach and former AD, Durham has been in double-digits in six games. She has recorded 30 career double-figure scoring games in three seasons.

Jasmine Hommes has started all 13 games for MSU this season and is averaging 11.6 points and 3.8 rebounds per game. Last weekend, she shot 40 percent from the field, while averaging 11.5 points per game. Hommes also has strong ties to the MSU women's basketball program as the niece of former Bobcat and Big Sky MVP Blythe Hommes-Hintz and former MSU and Big Sky All-Conference performer Brooke Hommes-Svendsen. Hommes' aunts made a combined 130 starts for the Bobcats- Blythe Hommes-Hintz 78 - Brooke Hommes-Svendsen 52.

Alexa Dawkins also came off the pine and posted a strong weekend for MSU, averaging 9.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per game. The former Bozeman High product had 10 pts and 7 rebs vs. EWU. The duo hail from strong athletic lineages. Lindsay is the daughter of NBA Hall of Famer John Stockton, while Dawkins' father Dale played football on the University of Miami's 1987 National Championship team. Dawkins later went on to play wide receiver for the New York Jets from 1990-93.
FOR WHOM THE BELL TOLLS:
Redshirt freshman Margreet Barhoum came off the bench and gave the Bobcats a spark in both games over the weekend. The Edmonds, Wash., had her best outing in MSU's win over Portland State playing 20 minutes and notching seven points and a career-high six assists. Barhoum had 5 points against Eastern Washington.
