Cross Country Moves Up in Regional Polls

USTFCCCA polls reflect big weekend for Bobcat Runners
The United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the lastest regional polls on Monday and both Montana State Cross Country teams are reaping the benefits of a huge opening weekend of competition. (Complete Regional Rankings)
The Bobcat men moved up five spots in the Mountain Region from 13th to eighth, marking the biggest jump of any men's Division I program this week. MSU won the Bozeman Running Company Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 21 to set the tone for the 2013 season. Cristian Soratos paced the Bobcats, earning his second collegiate win with a time of 25:09 in the men's five-mile race. Montana State had four runners in the top six spots.
After going unranked in the first week of the polls, the Women jumped to 10th in the Mountain Region after placing second behind Utah State at the BRC Invite. MSU was paced by Heather Demorest who immediately took the lead in the three-mile race. Finishing with a time of 17:16, she dropped over 20 seconds from her 2012 performance at Bridger Creek Golf Course.
The Bobcat Harriers return to action on Friday, Oct. 4, when they travel to Missoula for the Montana Invitational.
