Brumwell reels in two awards
Senior guard Christian Moon won Most Valuable Player honors and sophomore center Blake Brumwell earned a pair of awards as Montana State basketball announced its team awards Friday.
Moon, from Inkster, Mich., led the Bobcats with 13.9 points a game, earning Honorable Mention All-Big Sky honors along the way. He finished among the league's top 10 scorers.
Sophomore guard Mike Dison (Houston, Tex.) earned the team's Defensive Player of the Year Award, finishing second on the team with 2.5 steals per 40 minutes of play and often matching up with the opponent's top guard when on the floor. Marcus Colbert (Post Falls, ID) entered the season as an untested freshman, and capped it with the program's Most Improved and Community Service Awards. His 61 assists was second on the team, while he was third with 27 steals.
A pair of Treasure State big men also landed awards. Sophomore center Blake Brumwell (Big Sandy) earned the Bobcat Award as the top representative of the program in all phases – on the floor, in the community, and in the classroom. Brumwell also shared the Academic Award for achievement in the classroom with Billings forward Danny Robison, a freshman.
