Binford Adds Junior College Transfer to MSU Women’s Hoops Program

Montana State women’s basketball coach Tricia Binford has announced that Michelle Seitz, a junior college transfer from Walla Walla (WA) Community College, has signed a national letter-of-intent to compete with the Bobcats this season.
Montana State women's basketball coach Tricia Binford has announced that Michelle Seitz, a junior college transfer from Walla Walla (WA) Community College, has signed a national letter-of-intent to compete with the Bobcats this season.
Seitz, a 5-foot-6 guard from Nezperce, Idaho, just wrapped up a two-year stint a Walla Walla, where she led the Warriors to a 47-12 mark during her tenure, including a 24-5 mark and a Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges Eastern Region title, this winter. Seitz finished the 2012-13 campaign averaging 15.2 points, 8.6 points, 3.6 assists and 1.6 assists per game, while shooting 41 percent from the field, 36 percent from beyond the arc and 81 percent from the line. In addition, she set a new Walla Walla mark with 44 points against Yakima.
Seitz garnered NWAACC East Region most valuable player honors last winter, and was also named to the East Region All-Defensive Team.
“Michelle is the perfect fit for our program,” Binford said. “We place emphasis on the three C's – class, community and court. We hope she'll bring a fourth C – championship to the program. Michelle is an experienced player that has a nice touch. She is a gym-rat and will bring another element to the squad. Michelle is a great scorer and an aggressive rebounder and we like her toughness.”
Seitz prepped at Nezperce High School and guided the Indians to an 18-6 mark during her senior season, averaging 18.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 3.5 steals per contest. She was a Wendy's High School Heisman State finalist. In addition, Seitz garnered Idaho 1A Division 2 all-state accolades. She also lettered in softball and track.
An outstanding student, she was NHS valedictorian and was an honor roll selection.
She is the daughter of Kevin and Rhonda Seitz.
