Bobcats Face Exhibition Test Sunday

MSU hosts Dickinson State in Worthington Arena
Brad Huse will be looking for some fundamental elements when his Montana State men's basketball team plays its lone exhibition game Sunday at 2 pm against Dickinson State in Worthington Arena.
"I want to see this team play as a unit," Huse says of job one for his eighth Bobcat team. "We need to share the basketball, defend as a unit, play together. We have some experience guys, and we've made good gains (in the preseason)."
Huse welcomes back nine lettermen and six players with starting experience. He and his staff, which also features three new assistants, spent the expanded fall practice season sorting through a versatile roster with players who can each fill multiple roles.
"We have a lot of players with diverse skills," he said. "We'll need to find the roles for guys that will give the team the best chance for success, but I like the versatility we have."
Three veterans return in the backcourt. Marcus Colbert spent much of 2012-13 as the starting point guard, while Antonio Biglow and Michael Dison each bring expansive offensive portfolios to the floor. All three can score from the perimeter, and all three have the ability to distribute and play at different tempos. "We'll find ways to get those three guys on the floor at the same time," Huse said, "but we definitely won't have a three-man point guard rotation."
Inside, center Paul Egwuonwu and power forward Flavien Davis return as starters, with Blake Brumwell, and Danny Robison adding strength off the bench. Ryan Shannon redshirted a season ago, and he and returning junior Eric Norman bring an outside-in presence to the forward spot.
At the wing things get more interesting. Calen Coleman is a senior with a scorers' mentality, while junior college transfer Terrell Brown adds an athletic, dynamic presence. New freshmen Stephan Holm has shown the ability to score in a variety of ways in the fall, while classmate Vance Wentz is a terrific shooter from the circle.
After Sunday's exhibition, Montana State hosts Cal State Fullerton in the season opener on Nov. 9 at 4:30 pm in Worthington Arena.
