Portland State hit .352 from the field and had two players in double-figure kills as the Vikings recorded a 25-20, 25-12, 25-18 win over Montana State, Friday night in Shroyer Gym.
Portland State hit .352 from the field and had two players in double-figure kills as the Vikings recorded a 25-20, 25-12, 25-18 win over Montana State, Friday night in Shroyer Gym.
"We're still looking for that killer attitude and a response when our opponent pushes us," said second-year head coach Kyle Weindel. "We're not there yet."
Portland State (13-10, 10-3) held onto second place in the Big Sky Conference as Kaeli Patton and Jaklyn Wheeler each notched ten kills.
Montana State (5-19, 3-10) was led by freshman Kennadie Clute, who tallied her 24th consecutive double-digit kill match with a team-high 15 kills. Freshman Loni Kreun also contributed to the MSU effort with nine kills, while Eli Svisco posted five kills and hit a team-high .250 from the floor.
Defensively, the Bobcats were led by Nicole Baker with 12 digs and Anna Sykora with seven saves.
MSU will host Eastern Washington on Saturday at 7 p.m. in Shroyer Gym.
