
Jackie Elliott Earns 2012 Montana Athlete Service Award

Montana State sophomore basketball standout Jackie Elliott was been named a 2012 Montana Athlete Service Award recipient, presented by the Montana Campus Contact, which recognizes exemplary service to the community.
Montana State sophomore basketball standout Jackie Elliott was been named a 2012 Montana Athlete Service Award recipient, presented by the Montana Campus Contact, which recognizes exemplary service to the community.
Elliott, a graduate of Billings Central, has volunteered her time at the Bozeman Boys and Girls Club, Heart of the Valley Animal Shelter, D.R.E.A.M. (Down Syndrome Research Education Advocacy in Montana), Kids Counseling Kids, Special Olympics of Montana, and has served as a volunteer camp coach at BCHS for basketball, track and soccer.
“I love giving back to the community,” Elliott said. “I enjoy meeting new people and it's a goal of mine to make a positive impression on everyone I meet.”
Elliott was recognized for her achievements at the 112th meeting between Montana State and Montana on Nov. 17 in Missoula.
“On behalf of the MTCC Board of Directors, I would like to thank Jackie for her service as a role model and for the legacy of civic engagement that she'll leave for others to admire and continue,” said Dean McGovern, executive director of Montana Campus Compact.
Montana Campus Compact is the state's largest higher education network comprising 20 public, private, two-year, four-year, community, and tribal colleges and universities. MTCC is committed to advancing the public purposes of higher education by encouraging community service, service-learning, and other civic engagement activities among faculty, students, and staff. MTCC supports campus-community partnerships via its service programs and awards.
