Bobcats Show Balance in Blue-Gold Scrimmage

Montana State men's basketball coach Brad Huse has seen glimpses of talent from is 2012-13 squad during the first week of official practice. Week two began with a look at how the pieces fit together.

Junior center Paul Egwuonwu led all players with 20 points, while guard Christian Moon poured in 17 points. Wings Jamie Stewart, a senior, and Flavien Davis, a junior, each added 14.

"One of the primary things that sticks out is we shared the ball and made the extra pass in most situations," Huse said of his first live look at the Bobcats. "Defensively we played hard but we need to continue shoring up our rebounding."

Point guards Antonio Biglow, a junior, and Marcus Colbert, a freshman, were productive distributors. Biglow dished out three assists against only one turnover, while Colbert, a freshman, served six assists to with only two turnovers.

"Paul and Flavien scored it well but a lot of their baskets were the result of a nice feed or drop off pass," Huse said. "Overall, I'm happy with where we're at after a week."

Sophomore center Blake Brumwell joined Egwuonwu in providing efficient scoring inside. He shot three-for-three from the floor, two-for-two from the line, and scored eight points while grabbing four boards.
