Montana State women's basketball coach Tricia Binford will sport a new fashion look for MSU's game with Eastern Washington on Saturday, Jan. 28 at 2:05 p.m. Binford will coach in her bare feet.
The Barefoot Coaching Movement was conceived in 2007 to raise awareness for the plight of impoverished children who suffer needlessly from foot-borne diseases and infections due to a lack of shoes. This season, Binford will join the cause, along with thousands of coaches across the country, by going bare foot to raise awareness and funding to help put one-million pairs of shoes on the feet of children through Samaritan's Feet.
“It is an honor for Bobcat Basketball to partner with Samaritan's Feet for this noble cause,” Binford said. “It is our hope to work with our fan base to not only raise funds for this charity, but to also raise awareness.”
Fans attending the Jan. 28 game can text the word “shoes” to 85944 and a one-time gift of $10 will be added to their next month's phone bill and an impoverished child will be given a new pair of athletic shoes.
