
Semansky named Big Sky Player of the Week

Rachel Semansky led the Bobcat women's basektball team to a pair of road victories and was named the top player in the leauge for her efforts.
Montana State's Rachel Semansky has been named the Big Sky Player of the Week for games played the week of Jan. 17-23. This is the first award this season for the sophomore from Highwood, Mont.
Semansky led the Bobcats in two road victories last weekend, pushing Montana State to league-leading 5-0 conference record. For the two games, she averaged 18.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.5 blocks per game. Even more impressive was her 70 percent (16-of-23) field-goal percentage against two of the best defenses in the Big Sky.
The forward started the week strong with 15 points and eight rebounds in a road win over Weber State. Semansky came alive in the second half scoring 11 points. She followed up with a more impressive performance at Montana, where she dropped in 21 points and added nine rebounds, four assists, three steals and two blocks. For the game, she shot 90 percent from the floor hitting her first nine shots. The Bobcats now have won ten straight.
Semansky has raised her season field-goal percentage to a league-best 57 percent, while shooting 67 percent in league play.
