Montana State locked up its spot in the Big Sky Tournament with Saturday's win at PSU
Montana State's win Saturday did more than clinch a non-losing Big Sky season for the Bobcats - it sealed the team's fourth straight Big Sky Tourney berth under MSU coach Brad Huse.
MSU's 79-71 win at Portland State boosted the team into the Big Sky Conference's post-season event for the sixth straight season, and in addition drew the Bobcats closer to either hosting a first-round game or a first-round bye. The team's magic number to seal a spot in the top four, which guarantees that MSU played a home game in the first round if it didn't finish second or first, is one with Portland State. A Big Sky win for MSU or a loss by PSU seals a top-four spot for the Bobcats.
Montana State hosts Sacramento State on Thursday, before hosting San Jose State in an ESPN Bracket Buster game on Saturday. Portland State visits Northern Arizona on Thursday and Northern Colorado on Saturday.
