
Bobcat Women Begin Three Game Homestand

The Montana State women's basketball team will play three games at home over the next three weeks, beginning with Portland on Friday night at 6 p.m.

The Montana State women's basketball team will look to snap a five-game losing streak when it hosts Portland, Friday at 6 p.m. in Worthington Arena. The Bobcats are currently 2-7 overall and have not shied away from a challegning schedule that has included losses to national powers No. 2 Baylor and No. 12 UCLA. Last weekend, MSU rallied from a 19-point second-half deficit at UC Riverside only to come up short 68-63 to the Highlanders. Montana State held their own two days later at No. 12 UCLA, eventually dropping a 54-44 decision to the Bruins. Portland enters Friday's game with a 6-3 overall mark, including notable victories over Boise State, Eastern Washington, Washington State and Hawai'i. The Pilots are led by cagey veteran Jim Sollars, who is in his 35th year of coaching and 25th season at UP. On the season, Portland has been led by Natalie Day, who has come off the bench to average 15.7 points per game. Following Friday's game, UP will travel to Montana for a Sunday matinee'.
