Bobcats, Grizzlies tangle with Big Sky title on the line
At times during today's 110th Cat-Griz, Bobcat fans may look at the field and harken back to happy, happy times. Like September.
Like the Eastern Washington game.
That huge 30-7 win, which in many ways set up MSU's chance to play for a Big Sky title today, marks the last time MSU's regular starting defense took the field together - Dustin O'Connell at end, Clay Bignell in the middle at linebacker, Jordan Craney at safety.
The last time until today.
O'Connell will start at end for the first time since breaking a collar bone against EWU back on September 25. Bignell may not start - it is likely to be Aleksei Grosulak and Michael Rider - but is expected to play a key role.

It's Cat-Griz, and accordingly Rob Ash said fans will see plenty of new wrinkles.
"We definitely have some different formations ready" for today, Ash said. The new looks range from formations designed to pack things in and run the ball in power situations, to spreading the field and engineering matchups on linebackers and safety in the passing game.

The last time MSU entered a Cat-Griz contest with a better record than the Grizzlies? 1992, when Montana won 29-17.
