MSU Returns from Islands Facing Two Home Games

After a whirlwind first week of the 2010-11 basketball season, Montana State returns for some home cooking in Bozeman this weekend, facing Minot State at 5:35 pm Friday and Cal Poly at 7:05 pm Sunday. The Bobcats dropped a 77-59 decision to Hawai'i at the Outrigger Hotels Rainbow Classic in Honolulu, but responded with a 65-58 overtime win against respected MAC foe Central Michigan and an 80-76 victory over Cal State Fullerton. With several newcomers on its youthful roster generating buzz entering the weekend, a pair of reliable seniors led the Bobcats. Bobby Howard brings averages of 16.0 points and 9.0 rebounds back home, while Erik Rush dished out 17 assists in the three games, chipping in 14.0 points and 5.0 rebounds. Rod Singleton emerged as a force at the point guard position, averaging 13.3 points with 11 assists.
