Strand Earns Big Sky Player of the Week Honors

Junior Sarah Strand has been named Big Sky Conference Player of the Week for the second time this season.
Sarah Strand has been named the Big Sky Player of the Week for games played the week of January 11th through the 17th. This is Strand's second weekly award this season. The junior from Shoreline, Wash. was previously named Co-Player of the Week on Dec. 1.
Strand led the Bobcats as they snapped a three-game losing streak with a 95-86 win over Sacramento State Saturday. She tallied a career-high 16 rebounds, along with 17 points. In addition, she set a new Montana State school-record with seven blocked shots. The blocked shot mark also is tied for the conference's top performance of the season.
Strand finished the game 7-of-13 shooting from the field, along with grabbing five offensive boards to add to her total of 16 rebounds in the game. The junior also chipped in with three assists and one steal. She now has three double-doubles this season.
