Bobcats Fall to CS Bakersfield

Two come-from-behind wins in two days was too much for Montana State, as the Bobcats dropped a 71-61 decision at Cal State Bakersfield on Monday.
Montana State shot 53.5%, including 58% in the second half, but 17 Bobcat turnovers and a 35-22 rebounding deficit spelled MSU's doom. “We just had too many turnovers,” MSU coach Brad Huse said of Bakersfield's advantage of three more field goals in spite of being out-shot. “Turnovers and extra shots off of offensive rebounds were hard to overcome. Their athleticism and size took us out of some things.”
The Bobcats beat Sacramento State on Sunday for a conference road win, then traveled four hours south to Bakersfield after the game. MSU falls to 10-8 with the loss, while the Roadrunners raised their record to 3-14.
Bobby Howard scored 18 points to lead the Bobcats, while Will Bynum added 12. Cal State Bakersfield took advantage of its work on the glass, out-scoring MSU 9-2 in second chance points. Four Roadrunners scored in double-digits.
