Men's Cross Country Ranked Ninth in Regional NCAA Rankings

The Mountain Region includes the Big 12, Mountain West, Big West, Big Sky, and other NCAA western conferences. Currently, Northern Arizona's men are ranked number two on the regional list and the NAU women are ranked number one.
“Our guys went from 12th to ninth, and it was appropriate after the performance at our home meet,” head coach Dale Kennedy said. “ After our invite, it was clear we were ahead of Weber State. It's a nice start for week one and we need to keep climbing up the ladder.”
Kennedy's men and women travel to Missoula this weekend to take part in a four-team Division I invite sponsored by Montana. The field will include Gonzaga and Eastern Washington. The women's 5k race at will begin at 10:00a.m. and the men's 8k race follows at 10:30.
“I don't know if this week's meet will help us in the rankings, but hopefully we can hold our ground,” Kennedy said. “Certainly the men could hurt their rank if they don't perform well, but we're just hoping to keep getting better.”
