Indoor (Sophomore): Competed in seven meets for the Bobcats … Placed 11th in the 60 hurdles and seventh as a member of MSU’s 4x400 relay squad at the Big Sky Conference Championships … Completed personal-best time of 8.08 seconds in the 60 at the MSU Indoor Open (Feb. 7) … Season-best mark of 8.88 seconds in the 60 hurdles set at the same meet … Had season-high individual finish of second in the 60 hurdles at the MSU Dual Meet Invitational (Jan. 24) … Named to the Big Sky Conference Winter and Spring All-Academic Teams.
2018-19 Season
Indoor (Freshman): Contributor to Bobcat team score at the Big Sky Conference Championships … Finished fourth in the 60 hurdles with a lifetime-best mark of 8.71 seconds … Time tied for sixth on program’s top 10 all-time list … Also finished 23rd in the 200 at the Big Sky meet … Also ran the 400 and in the 4x400 relay over the course of seven meets … Made first appearance on 60 hurdles all-time top 10 at Jan. 18 Dual Meet Invitational with a mark of 8.78 seconds … Took first in event at Powder River Dual (Jan. 26) and second at MSU Open (Jan. 11) and invitational following week ... Named to Big Sky Winter All-Academic team.
Outdoor (Freshman): Participated in six meets during season … Finished 19th in the 100 hurdles at the Big Sky Championships … Earned personal bests in the 100 hurdles (14.56), 400 hurdles (1:05.59) and the 100 (12.75) … Placed as high as third individually twice in events … Competed in two events at the Beach Invitational on April 20 ... Named to Big Sky Spring All-Academic Team.
High School: Joined the Bobcats after earning four letters for the Cherry Creek High School Bruins … Completed her prep career by taking third in the 300-meter hurdles and fourth in the 100 hurdles at the CHSAA 5A State Championships … Preceded the effort by winning the Centennial League Championship 300 hurdles title and claiming a runner-up showing in the 100 hurdles the week prior … All-State First Team performer and All-State Academic First Team honoree, Smith won a state title in the 300 hurdles as a junior … Took fourth in the 100 hurdles at the state meet to go along with appearances in the 4x100 relay and 4x400 relay that same season … A four-time participant at the state championships … Earned the Bruins’ Outstanding Freshman Athlete award in 2015, Heart of a Champion Performer award in 2016 and was selected as the team’s Most Outstanding Track Athlete … Excelled in the classroom while attending Cherry Creek High … Earned the Masonic Achievement Award for Outstanding Juniors, was a member of Student Senate for four years, Fellowship of Christian Athletes for three years and part of Project C.U.R.E.
