Ryan Weese begins his second season with the Bobcat football program with new responsibilities. After coordinating on-campus recruiting in 2021, Weese becomes the program's General Manager. In his new role he serves as a liason to a variety of internal and external constituents while aiding Brent Vigen and the coaching staff in the day-to-day operation of the program. His responsibilities include coordinating team travel, team communication, and meals, as well as oversight of the program's recruiting calendar, evaluation of prospects, and coordination of recruiting visits. Weese comes to MSU after working as Player Personnel Analyst at Virginia for the 2019 and 2020 seasons, and before that for one year (2018) as Player Development/Recruiting Assistant at Rutgers. A native of Kansas City and two-year letterman at St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Overland Park, Kansas, and played at Hutchinson (Kansas) Community College in 2013. Weese redshirted at Hawaii in 2014, spent the 2015 and 2016 seasons at Kansas, and finished his career as South Dakota’s place kicker in 2017. With the Coyotes, Weese converted 67 consecutive extra points to set a MVFC record, and also a USD school mark for most made in a season, and hit 7 of 11 field goals. His 29-yarder beat No. 3 Youngstown State as that game ended. In the summer of 2021 Weese worked as an intern with the Kansas City Chiefs, taking in all aspects of the organization's front office, and in the winter of 2022 aided KC at the NFL Draft Combine. In his role at MSU, Weese serves as the program's NFL Liaison and also manages the program's student interns.
