Taylee Chirrick Named Big Sky Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week

Bobcat sophomore earns fifth award of 2025-26
BOZEMAN, Mont. (Feb. 3, 2026) – Montana State guard Taylee Chirrick made history for the Bobcat women's basketball team last weekend, and was rewarded by earning her third Big Sky Conference Player of the Week award in the last five weeks and her fifth of the season.
On the weekend, Chirrick In Thursday's win against Sacramento State, scored 43 points with 19 rebounds, seven assists and 16 steals in a pair of Bobcat home wins last weekend. The sophomore from Roberts, Montana, keyed an MSU defensive effort that held the Hornets to the fewest points ever by a Big Sky foe with five steals and seven rebounds. She also scored 12 points and five assists, accounting for the her Division I-leading (tied with three others) fourth 4-by-5 game (at least five points, rebounds, assists and steals).
Against Portland State on Saturday, Chirrick record MSU's third-ever triple-double and her second, with 31 points, 12 rebounds and 11 steals. Her 35.5 game score was the best stat line in college basketball that day per sports-reference.com and NCAA Stats. Her 30+ point triple-double was the fourth on record in Division I women's basketball history with rebounds and steals, and the first with less than 28 minutes played, and it came as MSU produced its fourth-largest margin of victory ever against a Big Sky opponent.
Chirrick's 16 steals in two weekend games moves her into second place in nationally with 4.3 steals per game. She is also second in the Big Sky in scoring (18.3 points per game) and seventh with 7.2 rebounds per game.
