Bobcat Volleyball Adds Gretta Lawson to Staff

BOZEMAN, Mont. (Jan. 19, 2026) – Gretta Lawson, who finished her career as Bobcat volleyball student-athlete last fall, is joining the Montana State coaching staff as a graduate assistant, head coach Matt Houk announced.

Lawson spent three seasons as a Bobcat, playing in five matches as a senior in 2025. Originally from San Diego, she lettered three seasons at Scripps Ranch High School, earning Second Team All-CIF honors, playing with WAVE Volleyball Club and with the USAV National Championship team. She finished her prep career at Ferris High School in Spokane, earning Second Team All-GSL plaudits.

"We are very excited to have Gretta join our staff," Houk said. "She is smart and eager and will add a ton of value to the program. It's also wonderful to have a coach that played for us over the last few years – Gretta understands the techniques, systems, and style which will allow her to hit the ground running."

The Bobcats are in the midst of winter workouts, and begin their spring season in April.
