Bobcat Athletics Announce New Staff Members

New staffers join Bobcat Athletics
BOZEMAN, Mont. (September 9, 2025) – Bobcat Athletics welcomes eight newcomers to the Montana State University family at the dawn of the 2025-26 academic year, Director of Athletics Leon Costello announced.
Pete Heim, Senior Associate AD/External Relations and Revenue Generation: Pete Heim joins Bobcat Athletics after six years as Associate Athletic Director for Ticket Operations and Sales at Arkansas. During his career, Heim has continually added responsibilities while working at Houstin (2016-18), Alabama (2014-16), Duke (2008-14), Tennessee (2007-08) and UAlbany (2005-06). He holds degrees from State University of New York College at Cortland and UAbany. Full release here
Hailey Barrett, Head Women's Tennis Coach: Hailey Barrett brings a strong base of coaching experience to the MSU head women's tennis coach position. She has served as an assistant at Rutgers, Colorado, Washington & Lee, UConn and West Virginia. She earned her bachelor's and masters degrees from West Virginia. Full release here
Jason Carrey, Assistant Director of Compliance: Jason Carrey, Director of Compliance for the past two years, joins MSU Athletics as Assistant Director of Compliance. He has also worked at Sacramento State after earning degrees at Kansas and Akron.
Benito Cecenas, Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach: Benito Cecenas brings experience at Minnesota, Vermont, William Woods University to the Montana State strength and conditioning staff. He worked most recently with the Golden Gophers women's soccer and men's swimming programs, and has earned degrees from the Vermont, William Woods and UM in Missoula.
Sam Musgraves, Assistant Director of Bobcat Creative Services: A University of Cincinnati graduate, Sam Musgraves joins the Bobcat Creative Services team after one year as the lead sports creative intern at Northern Kentucky. He has wide-ranging experience in videography, photography and graphic design.
Pershelle Rohrer, Assistant Director of Media & Digital Relations: Pershelle Rohrer, originally from Logan, Utah, joins the Bobcats communications staff in September. The Bowling Green State University graduate spent the last two years as a graduate assistant at the University of Georgia, working with the Bulldogs' championship track and field program the past two years.
Megan Ryan, Assistant Athletic Trainer: Originally from Miles City, Megan Ryan joins the Bobcat Athletic Training staff after a year as Assistant AT at Louisiana Tech. She graduated from Carroll College in 2019 and MSU Billings in 2024, and worked as an intern at North Carolina, Carroll, and at high school and college programs in Billings.
Kennedy Waible, Assistant Athletic Director/Development: Kennedy Waible joins the Bobcats after five years owning and operating small businesses in Bozeman. She also spent the summer of 2023 as a Recruiting and Operations Assistant with the Bobcat football program. She graduated from Oregon in 2023.
