Several Bobcats enter Friday's final long go-round performance in strong position

CASPER, Wyo. (June 19, 2025) – A pair of Bobcats posted outstanding scores on Thursday, each moving into the top eight of the third go-round at the 2025 College National Finals Rodeo in Casper, Wyoming.
Sydney Berquist's excellent showing in the breakaway roping continued, as she posted her best time of the event. Berquist's 2.3 is good for eighth in the go-round and moves her into seventh in the average with 7.6 seconds on three head. She is in good position to advance to Saturday's championship go.
Cole Gerhardt marked a 4.8 in the steer wrestling, his first of the event after a pair of no scores. He is sixth in the third go entering Friday's performance, which closes the long go section of the rodeo.
Three Bobcats compete in Friday's performance to close the rodeo's third go-round. Cole Gerhardt is up in the bareback with a score 153 on two head. He'll likely need a score in the 70s to advance to Saturday's championship go. Mitch Detton is 19.0 on two head in steer wrestling after breaking the barrier in the second go. Faith Marshall is at 13.1 after goat tying runs of 6.7 and 6.4. A similar mark Friday would put her in contention for top honors on Saturday.
