MSU sophomore Justine Lamontagne had the highest finish for the Bobcats, placing sixth with a two-run total of 1:59.50.

In a precursor for the Colorado Spencer James Nelson Memorial Invitational, Feb. 2-3, the Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Ski Association held a giant slalom qualifier at Steamboat Resort on Thursday afternoon. MSU sophomore Justine Lamontagne had the highest finish for the Bobcats, placing sixth with a two-run total of 1:59.50.

The RMISA qualifiers do not count toward team scoring but do count toward NCAA qualification.

Also earning qualifying points for MSU were Lana Zbasnik, 17^th, 2:00.99, Ylva Falksete, 18^th, 2:01.04, Nellie Talbot, 21^st, 2:01.21, and Brynne Hitchcock, 29^th, 2:04.61.

Utah's Madison Hoffman won the event in 1:57.42.

Isak Staurset placed 15^th in 1:50.48 to guide the Bobcat men. Jamie Casselman, 17^th, 1:50.62, Tanner Perkins, 18^th, 1:50.75, Henry Heaydon, 28^th, 1:52.64, and Luc Dalton, 37^th, 1:55.06 also earned qualifying points. Gianluca Boehm did not finish his second run, after sitting 13^th after the first go. Dawson Yates did not complete his first run.

UU's Mikkel Solbakken won the men's race 1:48.88.
