Montana State's Drake Schneider advanced to the semifinals of the men's 400-meter hurdles after posting a time of 51.60 in the second heat at the 2022 Toyota US Track and Field Championships on Friday evening at Hayward Field. Schneider's time was the third fastest outside of the top three in each of the four heats.

"It's exciting to see Drake make it through to the next round," said Dale Kennedy Director of Track and Field Lyle Weese. "He maybe wasn't feeling his best today, but he did a great job fighting through and moving on to tomorrow."
Schneider will race in the second round of the 400m hurdles on Saturday at 2:22 p.m. (MT).
Corbett, a Bozeman native, no heighted in the high jump at 1.82 (5-11.5) along with six other competitors in the 16-person field. Nike Red Bull's Vashti Cunningham, a world indoor gold medalist, captured the contest clearing the bar at 1.93 (6-4).
"Lucy had an incredible year," Weese said. "She had some next level breakthroughs and competed in two NCAA championships and US Championship. She also long jumped for us and really gave us a tremendous effort the whole season. It's exciting to know she can bring these experiences back next season."
Corbett notched a career-best mark outdoors of 1.87 (6-1.5) at the ISU Bengal Invitational on April 30.
Steeplechaser's Duncan Hamilton and Levi Taylor will run in the finals of their event on Saturday at 3:04 p.m., while Cantor Coverdell will go in the javelin on Sunday at 1:35 p.m.
"Tomorrow is going to be about sticking to routine and going with what has worked all season," Weese said. "It'll be an exciting day to be a Bobcat."
