GAME #13: Bobcats Host William & Mary Under the Lights on Friday at 8:15 pm

BOZEMAN, Montana – For the second straight week two of the best running teams in the FCS get together in Bobcat Stadium, as Montana State hosts William & Mary Friday at 8:15 pm on Friday.
MSU enters Friday's FCS Quarterfinal showdown as the second-ranked rushing team in the nation with 330.9 yards a game, while the Tribe is fourth with 276.7 yards a contest. Bobcat coach Brent Vigen said that while his team strives for wrinkles based on its opponent every week, its identity won't change. "As the season has gone along we've continued to evolve," he said, "and that evolution adds up to each performance trying to do what we do. We want to make it look different from week to week, but we're doing it all in the confines of our system."
That system has produced some of the most impressive seasons in Bobcat history. Quarterback Tommy Mellott has rushed for 1,020 yards in his 10 games, while his position-mate Sean Chambers has 18 rushing touchdowns, three shy of the school record. Running back Isaiah Ifanse didn't make his 2022 season debut until last Saturday, and he set a Bobcat playoff record by gaining 9.1 yards per carry (91 yards on 10 attempts).
On the other side of the field, Colonial Athletic Association champion William & Mary is led by quarterback Darius Wilson, who is eighth nationally in passing efficiency. He throws for 182.5 yards a game, and rushes for 43.5. Running back Bronson Yoder has rushed for 1,133 yards this season, 103.0 yards per game, while receiver Caylin Newton has 532 receiving yards on the season.
Montana State plays in the quarterfinal round for the third straight season and is in the FCS Playoffs for the fourth straight campaign, both best marks in school history. William & Mary is the fourth consecutive ranked opponent to face the Cats in Bobcat Stadium.
The game airs nationally on ESPN2.
