Bobcats Through Second Round at The Clash at Boulder Creek

Four of the five Montana State women’s golfers carded better rounds on day two of the three-day tournament on Monday.
BOULDER CITY, Nevada — The Montana State women's golf team improved across the board during the second round of The Clash at Boulder Creek, held at the par-72, 6,309-yard Boulder Creek Golf Club course on Monday.
Needing to make up some ground on the rest of the team standings, four of the five Bobcats carded better rounds than they did in Sunday's first round. Yet Montana State is still situated in 14th place out of 17 Division I teams with a two-round score of a 33-over-609 (311-298) heading into the final round, which starts Tuesday at 9 a.m. MT.
Cora Rosanova moved up the individual rankings by shooting an 8-over-152 (78-74) on Monday. She leads the way for Montana State in a six-way tie for 48th place. Freshman Maddie Montoya is one stroke behind with a 9-over-153 (80-73), which was bolstered by her collegiate-best round of 73 strokes.
Scarlet Weidig Velazquez and Kameryn Basye are tied for 59th with two-round scores of 10-over-154s. Weidig Velazquez led the team with three birdies on the day in her 76-stroke round. Lauren Greeny rounds out the Bobcats with a 13-over-157 that is tied for 73rd overall.
Team-wise, Nevada increased its lead on the field on day two. The Wolf Pack have 10-under 566 (284-282) through two rounds, making it the only team under par. Individually, Idaho's Yvonne Vinceri and Nevada's Leah John shot identical 5-under 139s (68-71) to tie for the best score so far.
