Montana State Golf Gears up for Loaded 2021-22 Schedule

The Montana State women’s golf team released its 2021-22 schedule on Wednesday, Aug. 4, which features 10 tournaments that lead into the Big Sky Conference Championship
BOZEMAN, Mont. – The Montana State women's golf team released its 2021-22 schedule on Wednesday, Aug. 4, which features 10 tournaments that lead into the Big Sky Conference Championship that takes place in April in Scottsdale, Ariz.
The Bobcats are slated to play in five fall events opening with two consecutive appearances in Utah. MSU travels to Springville to play in Utah Valley's Hobble Creek Fall Classic from Sept. 13-14, then follow that with a trip to Eden to play in the Kelsey Chugg Invitational from Sept. 20-21 hosted by Weber State.
The fourth annual Battle at Old Works returns to Anaconda, Mont., as MSU plays host to the lone Division I golf tournament in the Treasure State. The Bobcats will tee off at Old Works Golf Club on Sept. 27 for a two-day, 54-hole tournament.
"The Battle at Old Works will be a smaller event, but it's always nice when we get to play close to home," Bobcat head coach Brittany Basye said. "Old Works is a favorite of ours and is always a good challenge for our players."
MSU closes out the fall by playing in the New Mexico State Aggie Invitational (Oct. 4-6) and the Ptarmigan Ram Classic (Oct. 18-19).
"We're anxious for a fall season of competition," Basye said. "Even though we were able to practice and be together last fall, we didn't get to compete so we're excited to be able to play in a few tournaments. We will be in Utah, Colorado, New Mexico and Montana for tournaments this fall, which gives our nine players a good opportunity to compete for our five travel spots."
The 2022 portion of the golf squad's schedule begins with a new tournament when the Bobcats participate in the Mountain Classic Match Play in Palm Desert, Calif., from Feb. 14-15. MSU then plays in four consecutive familiar events.
Montana State will appear in the Grand Canyon Invitational (Feb. 28-March 1), Red Rocks Invitational (March 19-20) and the Cowgirl Classic (April 4-5) before hosting the Bobcat Desert Classic starting on April 11. The tournament will be held again at the Golf Club of Estrella in Goodyear, Ariz.
The 2021-22 schedule is scheduled to come to a close at the Big Sky Conference Championships which runs three days (April 18-20). The tournament will be held at Talking Stick Resort Golf Course.
