Montana State track and field is looking ahead to its first outdoor season in two years which is set to begin this weekend
BOZEMAN, Mont. – Montana State track and field is looking ahead to its first outdoor season in two years which is set to begin this weekend. The Bobcats are tentatively scheduled to participate in six meets prior to the Big Sky Conference Championships that will be hosted by Weber State from May 12-15.
"We are really excited about having a season that is closer to a typical season," said Lyle Weese, Montana State's director of track and field. "Nothing is going to be fully the same for some time, but compared to where we've been, I think that we're just excited about the possibility to get into some meets, face some other teams, getting the whole team together and just competing. Those are all things we're really looking forward to."
The Bobcats open the outdoor slate by traveling to Sacramento, California, to compete in the Hornet Invitational this Saturday. The meet will feature athletes from Cal, San Jose State, Stanford, UC Davis along with host Sacramento State. Live results will be available here.
MSU will stay in-state the following weekend when the Bobcats participate in the Al Manuel Northwest Invitational hosted by Montana. While the meet starts on March 26, a majority of events will take place on March 27.
The 'Cats make a final trip to California on April 3 as they are slotted to appear at the Azusa Pacific Invitational.
The first of two meets at the Bobcat Track and Field Complex during the outdoor season will be held on April 10 as the Bobcat Qualifier meet kicks off. MSU will also host the Tom Gage Invite on May 5 to close out the regular season. MSU also has the Cat-Griz Dual on its schedule with an April 24 date set.
Details on allowed attendance at any home meets will be released at a closer date prior to each event.
