Montana State and Idaho State return to action in Worthington Arena
BOZEMAN, Mont. – The Montana State track and field program is set to host its second meet of the indoor season Friday when the Bobcats welcome competitors from Idaho State to Worthington Arena. The 'Bobcat Special' is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
The MSU and Idaho State programs competed in their first head-to-head meeting on Jan. 22 in Bozeman. The second dual between the Bobcats and Bengals will feature a similar format as their first matchup.
Only those athletes competing during their scheduled event and those working the event will have access to the Arena floor. No fans will be allowed at the events. Masks will be required to be worn by all those in the Arena except for athletes when they are physically competing in their event. Competitors will be socially distanced as much as possible in between their event participation. All competitors will need to have had a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of participation while tests will be required of those working the event.
Jumps events are scheduled from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m., throws and distance events will take place from 12:45-3:45 p.m. and sprints events will follow at 4:00 p.m. No cross over will take place between different event groups in order to limit any potential exposure to athletes.
The 800-meter run, 5,000m and 4x400 relays have been added to the event list for this second meet.
Fans will not be able to attend MSU's Friday's meet in order to minimize risk to fans and athletes alike. Live results for the duals will be available at msubobcats.com/trackresults. A stream of the meet will be available on the Montana State Athletics YouTube page. A schedule of events is online at msubobcats.com.
