Every Friday from now until the beginning of the volleyball season will we spotlight a member of the Bobcat volleyball program. Up first: Hannah Scott.
Hannah Scott will be one of Montana State's top offensive threats heading into 2020 campaign. Last season, the three-year starter had a breakout year which culminated in being named to the all-Big Sky Conference First-Team. Scott made the transition to the right-side and saw her numbers increase across the board, especially with her blocking ability. She ended last fall recording a career-high ten blocks as MSU finished its season against Northern Colorado in the Big Sky Conference Tournament semifinals.
CATCHING UP WITH HANNAH:
1). Can you give us an update on your current status?
"I just got back to Bozeman after being in Georgia for a month and a half. I will say that Bozeman is really tough to be away from! To pass the time I've been working out, spending quality time with friends and family, cooking, fishing, and hiking. Although this time has been tough and arguably scary for a lot of people, I know that we will all be stronger because of it. It is important to make sure we are doing things to better ourselves every day!"
2). How do you think the spring volleyball season was progressing before everything shut down?
"Before everything got shut down, we were working very hard as a team. I was excited walking into practice each morning because my teammates were consistently doing things in the gym that are going to make us an exceptional team in the fall. "
3). What are your goals heading into the fall and what are the expectations for the team?
"I am really looking forward to this coming season because I am confident that we have all of the pieces we need to win us a championship. Of course, it's not going to be easy, but as long as the team is as bought in as we were when we left for spring break, I know we have good things ahead of us. The sky is the limit for this team, and I am really excited to see what we can do. Go Cats!"
HEAD COACH DANIEL JONES ON HANNAH SCOTT:
"Hannah has been an integral part of this team since she stepped on campus in the summer of 2017, and I believe she has started almost every game since that time. There is no doubt she is one of the premier players in the Big Sky Conference, proving that in her first-team selection in her junior year. I'm excited to see what kind of season Hannah can put together in her senior campaign. She is hungry to lead us to a championship, and I have no doubt she has the talent, skill set and drive to do this."
