
Bobcats Ready For NCAA Ski Championships

The Montana State ski will compete in the 2019 NCAA Championships in one of the most historic venues in the eastern United States when it travels to Stowe, Vermont, for the 66th Annual NCAA meet. The championships are slated for March 6-9 at Stowe Mountain Resort (alpine) and the Trapp Family Lodge (Nordic).
STEEPED IN TRADITION - 2019 NCAA SKIING CHAMPIONSHIP:
The Montana State ski will compete in the 2019 NCAA Championships in one of the most historic venues in the eastern United States when it travels to Stowe, Vermont, for the 66th Annual NCAA meet. The championships are slated for March 6-9 at Stowe Mountain Resort (alpine) and the Trapp Family Lodge (Nordic). The championships will be hosted by Vermont for the sixth time. Last year, MSU finished sixth overall with 293 points. The Montana State ski team is coached by Kevin Francis (alpine) and Matthew Johnson (Nordic).

March 6 Men's & Women's 5/10K Freestyle 8 a.m. (MST)
March 7 Women's & Men's Giant Slalom 7 a.m. (MST
March 8 Women's & Men's 15/20K Classic 8 a.m. (MST)
March 9 Men's & Women's Slalom 7 a.m. (MST)
ABOUT THE BOBCATS:
The Montana State ski team qualified ten student-athletes for the NCAA Championships. Twelve racers are a complete team for one school. Although qualifying ten participants, MSU will ski only nine racers with the injury to senior Stephanie Gartner. The NCAA announced the 74-men and 74-women roster that will compete, beginning on Wednesday. The racers come from 24 NCAA institutions. Competing for Montana State at the NCAA Championships are Ti Donaldson, Anna Fake, Stephanie Gartner, Ty Godfrey, Eli Jensen, Jocelyn McCarthy, Louis Muhlen-Schulte, Kathleen O'Connell, Åge Solheim and Emma Tarbath. In addition, several Bobcats will serve as alternates to the championships, including Morten Bakke, Patrick Carry, Mia Henry, Karsten Hokanson, Kelly Koch, Florian Szwebel and Zak Vinter.
ALL-ROCKY MOUNTAIN INTERCOLLEGIATE SKI ASSOCIATION:
On the heels of a sixth-place finish at the Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Ski Association/NCAA West Regional Championships last weekend in Anchorage, Alaska, four Bobcat skiers have earned All-RMISA honors for their efforts. Named to the first-team All-RMISA squads were Jocelyn McCarthy and Louis Muhlen-Schulte, while Stephanie Gartner and Åge Solheim garnered second-team All-RMISA accolades.
THE 2019 RMISA SEASON:
MSU finished fifth in the final 2019 RMISA team standings with 1,848 points. Utah won the 2019 RMISA team title with 2,489.5 points, followed by Colorado 2,278.5, Denver 2,146, New Mexico, 2,089, MSU, Alaska Anchorage 1,762.5, Alaska Fairbanks 785, Westminster 770.5, Colorado Mountain 219 and Wyoming 105. MSU's Jocelyn McCarthy captured the 2019 RMISA slalom title.
