MSU’s Jaynes Finishes 21st at NCAA Championships in 400 Hurdles

Montana State senior Amanda Jaynes placed 21st overall in the women’s 400-meter at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Thursday
EUGENE, Ore. – Montana State senior Amanda Jaynes placed 21st overall in the women's 400-meter at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Thursday, June 7, at historic Hayward Field.
Seeded 22nd in the event prior to the meet, Jaynes finished a spot higher in her first appearance at the NCAA Championships by crossing the line in 59.33 seconds.
Running in the first lane in the final heat of the 400 hurdles, Jaynes took seventh out of eight competitors in her heat. Her time was one of the 10 fastest in the event during her collegiate career.
Jaynes earned honorable mention All-America status with her 21st-place showing. Jaynes was MSU's 10th female athlete to compete at the NCAA outdoor meet and second to participate in the 400 hurdles. Paige Squire placed 18th overall in the event at the 2015 NCAA Championships.
