“These two conference matches against North Dakota and Sacramento State are important steps for our team to progress towards our season goals,” said MSU head coach Jon Reeves. “The team is progressing nicely with their play and their expectations.”
The Montana State women's tennis team will look to extend its three-match win streak this weekend when it hosts North Dakota, Saturday, March 17, and perennial Big Sky Conference power Sacramento State on Sunday. Both matches are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. in the Bobcat-Anderson Tennis Center.
"These two conference matches against North Dakota and Sacramento State are important steps for our team to progress towards our season goals," said MSU head coach Jon Reeves. "The team is progressing nicely with their play and their expectations."
The Bobcats are coming off a 2-0 record on its recent trip to the Hawkeye State. MSU posted 4-3 victories over Drake and Grand Canyon. Montana State will also look to remain perfect in league play. The Cats are 2-0 in conference action posting victories over Portland State and Montana.
"We are excited to be home for a couple matches," Reeves said. "It has been good for our team to have a few days to recover after two tough matches."
Leading MSU last weekend in Iowa were Laura Mary and Angelina Philippova. Mary recorded two victories at the top singles spot, while Philippova captured both matches at No. 4 singles. In addition, freshman Enni Zander picked up a win over Drake at No. 5 singles and combined with Sarah Cheverie at No. 3 doubles where the tandem won both matches.
The Bobcats are 5-5 on the season.
