Montana State Skiers Rack-Up Postseason Honors

Sophomore David Neuhauser was named First-Team All-RMISA, while freshman Garret Driller was selected to the Second-Team All-RMISA squad for their efforts on the alpine side.
Year-end honors keep racking-up for the Montana State ski team. After placing fifth at last week's Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Ski Association/NCAA West Regional Championships, several Bobcats garnered postseason accolades.
Sophomore David Neuhauser was named First-Team All-RMISA, while freshman Garret Driller was selected to the Second-Team All-RMISA squad for their efforts on the alpine side.
Neuhauser and Driller had a phenomenal final week of league skiing in Alaska. Neuhauser won the UAA Seawolf Invitational giant slalom title, while Driller placed seventh. In slalom action, Driller finished fifth overall with Neuhauser one spot back in sixth place.
At the RMISA/West Regional meet, Driller won the men's slalom title, while Neuhauser placed 17th overall. In giant slalom, Neuhauser finished second, while Driller was third.
Neuhauser, a native of Brandenberg, Austria, was named RMISA/UAA Skier of the Week. Driller won RMISA/West Regional Skier of the Week kudos for his performances, as well.
Bozeman product Sawyer Kesselheim was the only MSU Nordic skier to earn honors, being named to the Second-Team All-RMISA contingent.
In addition, numerous Bobcats were named to the National Collegiate All-Academic Ski Team. Being honored for their work in the classroom is Noah Anderson, Erik Axelson, Linnea Hultin, Jennifer Irwin, Stephanie Irwin, Sawyer Kesselheim, Annie Liotta, Forrest Mahlen, Anika Miller, Martin Muan, David Neuhauser, David Owsley, and Isabella Smith.
One of, if not the, most difficult academic teams of its kind nationally, to make the team student-athletes must maintain a cumulative 3.5 grade point average in the classroom and have competed in one of three NCAA Regional competitions.
Twelve Bobcats skiers will compete in the NCAA Ski Championships, March 11-14 in Lake Placid, New York.
