Bobcats Slip Past Portland State for Men's Tennis League Win

Dylan Harvala wins clincher for Cats
The youngest came up biggest for the Montana State men's tennis team on Friday.
With the match on the line, Montana State freshman Dylan Harvala posted a 6-3, 5-7, 6-3 win at No. 6 singles over Portland State's Ian Risenhoover to give the Bobcats a 4-3 come-from-behind victory in Portland. Harvala's victory, one of four by MSU singles players necessitated by PSU's doubles point win, capped a back-and-forth affair.
"Dylan played his best match for us so far," said Bobcat coach Jared Burnham, "and really camp up big. I thought we really played well in singles."
After falling behind 1-0 by virtue of the doubles loss, Andre Napoliatano and Harry James each posted straight-set wins to push the Cats ahead 2-1. Javier Martin-Morillas earned a win at No. 3 to give MSU a 3-2 edge, but Portland State's Matt Pronesti topped Kellen Bates to square things up and put the pressure on Harvala.
The win over Portland State, played in the Rose City for the second straight season because the Vikings refused to play in Bozeman last year because of winter weather, raises Montana State's record to 2-0 in the league, 2-3 overall. The Vikings fall to 0-2 in Big Sky play, 2-3 overall.
