Male Track and Field Athletes Sweep Weekly Honors

The men's distance medley relay and Sean Ferriter earned Big Sky Conference athlete of the week honors

OGDEN, Utah - After a record-breaking performance on Friday evening, the men's distance medley relay team earned track athlete(s) of the week honors, while Sean Ferriter was named field athlete of the week, the conference office announced today.

Matthew Tex, Rory Bauer, Jory Fisher and Crisitan Soratos recorded a 9 minute 55.77 second distance medley relay time at the Montana State Invitational last weekend. Their time broke the old MSU record which was set in 2013, by nearly three seconds. This is Soratos third such honor this season, while the other three are earning the recognition for the first time in 2015.

Ferriter, a senior from Butte, Mont., won the weight throw for the fourth straight week. His throw of 65 feet 3.25 inches is the best in the Big Sky thus far this season. This is the first time Ferriter has earned this award.

Montana State remains at home as they host Montana and Weber State in a double dual on Friday, February 13 beginning at 4 p.m.
