Montana State Track and Field to Host Montana in the 2015 Season Soft Opening

This combined dual will be the only opportunity for our pentathletes and heptathletes to qualify for the Big Sky Indoor Championships.
Montana State Track and Field will host cross-state rival, Montana in the 10th Annual MSU Combined Event Dual. The meet will be the first scored meet on the new Mondo Super X Surface that was installed in the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse last year. The meet is set to begin on Monday, Jan. 5 at 1 p.m.
This combined dual will be the only opportunity for pentathletes and heptathletes to qualify for the Big Sky Indoor Championships. Qualifying standards for the men is 4,700 and 3,300 for women.
The women's pentathlon is a five event competition (60m hurdles, high jump, shot put, long jump and 800m), all taking place on Monday.
The men's heptathlon consists of seven events (60m, long jump, shot put, high jump, 60m hurdles, pole vault and 800m), which will be spread over the two-day event.
Mason Storm (So./Great Falls, MT) finished 11th at the Big Sky Conference Championships as a freshman with a season's best score of 4,500. Storm is currently 9th on Montana State's all-time top ten list.
Carley McCutcheon (Sr./Buckley, WA), who redshirted the 2014 indoor season, finished fourth in the 2013 Indoor championships and has a lifetime best of 3,618. McCutcheon finished 2nd in the 2014 Outdoor Championships heptathlon before advancing to the NCAA Championship finals. McCutcheon is currently fourth on MSU's all-time top list.
Danielle Muri (Jr./Billings, MT) finished 12 at the 2014 Big Sky Conference Indoor Championships. With a personal best of 3,307, the Billings native made incredible progress by the end of the outdoor season, finishing fourth at the conference championships. Jessica Chrisp (So./Deer Park, WA.) finished 14th at last year's Big Sky Conference Indoor Championships and earned a personal best score of 3,326.
The meet will begin on Monday at 1 p.m. with the women's 60m hurdles, followed by the men's 60m at 1:15 p.m. The meet will resume n Tuesday at 10 a.m. with the men's 60m hurdles. The event is free to the public.
