Week four brings more pressure to qualify
In addition to the regularly scheduled events, the meet will kick off earlier on Friday, at 1:30 p.m. with the 55 hurdles, as part of the women's pentathlon. The men's heptathlon is slated for 2 p.m., beginning with the 55 meter dash. It will conclude Saturday morning.
The Distance Medley Relay will also be run in Brick Breeden, give MSU a chance to see where they stand within the conference ranks. Last year both the men's and women's DMR won the gold medal at the Big Sky Championships.
"We are looking for a big weekend at this meet," said head coach Dale Kennedy. "We have a lot of athletes on the cusp of getting that automatic mark and Friday is a great opportunity to take advantage of."
Prior to Friday, 25 Big Sky automatic qualifiers have been nabbed by the Bobcats in addition to 28 performances within the top-16 in each event. The Conference Championship will take place Feb. 27-Mar. 1 in Pocatello, Idaho.
Outside of the multis, the meet will begin with both running and field events at 4:30 p.m.
